INA Clothing Unit Launched in Avadi Empowering Women through Skill Development and Employment Opportunities
Avadi, Chennai – 28th August 2024: The INA Clothing Unit, a significant initiative under the Idhu Namma Avadi (INA) project, was officially inaugurated today at the Nazareth College campus. The inauguration ceremony was graced by Shri Sasikanth Senthil, Member of Parliament for Thiruvallur District, and Past President Ln Yuvaraj of the Lions Club of Avadi, along with INA President, AN Henry Maris.
The INA Clothing Unit aims to empower women in the Avadi region by providing skill development in tailoring and employment opportunities. The unit will serve as a hub for training women in advanced tailoring techniques, enabling them to secure sustainable livelihoods. This initiative aligns with INA’s broader mission to uplift and support the local community through targeted development programs by focusing UNSDGs
Speaking at the event, Shri Sasikanth Senthil emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering economic independence among women, stating, "The INA Clothing Unit is a testament to the power of community-driven projects. By equipping women with valuable skills, we are not only enhancing their employability but also contributing to the overall growth of our society."
President Ln Yuvaraj of the Lions Club of Avadi highlighted the collaboration between INA and local organizations, remarking, "The success of this unit will depend on continued support and partnerships within the community. Together, we can create a positive impact that extends beyond Avadi.
INA President AN Henry Maris expressed his gratitude to all the dignitaries and partners who contributed to the successful launch of the unit. He also outlined future plans for expanding the project to include additional vocational training programs.
The INA Clothing Unit is now fully operational and ready to welcome its more batch of trainees. The unit is expected to train hundreds of women in the coming months, providing them with the skills needed to succeed in the tailoring and garment industry.
